Near Saint Quentin:
The Touage of Riqueval (12km), building of 5 670m, built in the XIXth century at the
request of Napoleon Ist. So, you could walk along the channel and discover the museum in the “toueur”,
the boat allowing to pull barges inside the tunnel.
The Godin’s “Familistère” (Guise 28 km), at Jean-Baptiste
Godin's initiative, manufacturer for the social progress and the better industry, is a unique, healthy
and modern environments of the XIXth century. These accommodations will be accompanied with washhouses,
stores "cooperatives", school, library, garden …
Historial of the World War (Péronne 30 km) will tell you one of the most terrible
battles in the global nature and the daily life.
In the old mill of Vermand, the Museum of Vermandois (13 km) exposes the objects dated
at necropolis Gallo-Roman: minerals, fossils, religious costumes, civil and military.
The House of the Textile (Fresnoy Le Grand: 16 km) will explain you by many animations,
textile creation in all its forms: embroidery, tapestry.
